About – Egmontas Geras

I live and create in London (b. 1994, Vilnius, Lithuania).

I’ve always loved shelves. They are inherently full of things placed considerately upon them. This is how I consider my hard drives - full of things. In the past I’ve written a short text describing my work as a mountain of questions. Imagine the website is an attempt to consolidate the mass of the mountain into a belly full of things found on shelves and you can enter it. The manner in which things have been placed so far isn't perfect, but they are all things of value, and - it's a start.

There are many objects (images, videos, models, etc) that I've made fondly, but either don't constitute to a greater or commercial 'Project', or are simply less critical. I'll start placing these in the 'Archive' section of the site, until I figure out a better strategy.

P.S. One of the most meaningful events of 2025 is the completion and opening of Graces Mews Gallery in Camberwell, South London. Whilst aware of the project from March 2022, I began direct involvement as the Technical Designer in August 2023. Lead by Cindy Casagrande, our very small team based in Gillet Square oversaw the building's design and construction. Looking back, every part and corner received its own, discrete attention. Their individual stories will be told eventually.

The gallery opened with an Exhibition on the 19th of June, 2025. It's now open to the public.
